The drugs seized during the two operations

In two separate operations on April 11, 2017  ̶  one on La Digue and the other at Mont Plaisir, Anse Royale  ̶  the National Drugs Enforcement Agency (NDEA) arrested two men for trafficking in a controlled drug.

At La Passe La Digue, a 23-year-old gardener was caught by NDEA agents with approximately seven grammes of suspected heroin drug.

In the other NDEA operation at Mont Plaisir, Anse Royale an approximate 10 grammes of suspected heroin drug plus R706 in different denominations were found with a 24-year-old man.

Both men were processed (photographed, finger-printed and interviewed) with a case registered against them in preparation for the courts. They have been released on conditions.
