Ceps gets new car |24 April 2017

The Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (Ceps) has benefitted from a vehicle that will enable “effective realisation of various programmes to increase fairness, transparency and civic participation in the democratic election process in Seychelles”.

The car was given as part of a European Union (EU) funded project launched last year with the aim of promoting the democratic process and good governance in Seychelles.

The project, called ‘Building capacity for citizens’ participation in the democratic process and good governance in Seychelles’, will cost 100,000 euros and will last for twelve months.

The French ambassador to Seychelles, Lionel Majesté-Larrouy, representing the EU, handed over the keys to the new car to the chairman of Ceps, Jules Hoareau, last Thursday at the Constance Ephelia Resort.

The handover took place following the launch of the second Volunteer of the year award by Vice-President Vincent Meriton.

Ambassador Majesté-Larrouy said: “This car will help Ceps to realise all its ongoing and future projects that will benefit all districts and the local community as well as for training of the trainers.”
