Youth Assembly approves two motions |03 May 2017

 

Two motions were approved during the first sitting of the 14th Seychelles National Youth Assembly (SNYA) held last Saturday at National House.

Present at the sitting were the 28 members of the 14th SNYA who represent their respective districts and educational institutions, as well as the chief executive of SNYC Alvin Laurence, among others.

The first motion tabled by Vanessa Joubert and seconded by Neddy Port-Louis proposed that the government along with the department responsible build a rehabilitation centre for young people with behavioural problems or abusing illegal drugs and alcohol.

The second motion proposed by Phillipa Servina and seconded by Anissa Dick, suggested that the Ministry of Education reinforces efforts and find better solutions for the lack of teachers in government schools, so that the youths can have a better and higher level of education.

Both motions were approved.
