Anse Royale athletes continue to impress locally

 

Track and field athletes of the Anse Royale club continue to dominate the local athletics scene as they claimed victory at the World Athletics Day Championship held last Saturday at Stad Popiler.

Anse Royale finished with 129 points overall, way ahead of second-placed Plaisance in the overall standings. Plaisance only managed 80 points compared to Anse Royale, whereas Port Glaud Shooting Stars (PGSS) were third after collecting 69 points in total.

The World Athletics Day is celebrated across the world where most countries organise similar championships to mark this day.

Athletes from Port Glaud Athletics Club (PGAC), Belonie, Inner islands, Mont Fleuri, Top Racers, Pointe Larue, Fast Track took part in the competition.
