Child Protection Week from May 29 – June 3 |26 May 2017
The National Council for Children (NCC) is launching its annual Child Protection Week on Monday May 29, 2017.
The week will end on June 3, 2017 under the theme ‘I have courage’.
It will be officially launched by the Minister for Family Affairs Jeanne Simeon in a ceremony at the Seychelles Trading Company’s (STC) conference room, Bois de Rose at 9am.
The launch will be followed by a workshop which will be conducted by a South African consultant who will introduce the Courage programme to get child protection participants to experience and identify and prioritise child protection challenges in Seychelles and strategise on how to address it.

Programme of activities for the week
Wednesday May 31 (9am - 3pm) : Workshop on courage as a living value to youth at the Rehabilitation Vocational training centre (SNYC)
Thursday June 1 (9am – 12noon) Children’s day at school – session about courage targeting fathers at the Youth Centre DAC launches courage leaflets at Anse Etoile and Port-Glaud
Friday June 2 (8.30am -1.30pm) Child Protection Workshop at NCC training Room Bel Eau
(9am – 12 noon) Workshop on Child Abuse conducted by the police department on Praslin
Saturday June 3 (10am) Movie The Camp -- film about child abuse – Venue NCC
( 7pm) Semi -final of ‘Bring it on’ gospel competition at ICCS
