Bullying writing competition |26 May 2017

Children and adults are being invited to take part in a writing competition under the theme ‘Bullying and my life’.

The competition has been launched by the Stand Up Step Up association with the aim of compiling the short stories, poems, reflections and drawings in a small booklet and have them published.

Anyone from the age of six is free to take part in this contest, Children below the age of 10 are allowed to submit drawings depicting the theme.

Entries should be sent to standupsey@gmail.com before June 15.

The chairperson of Stand Up Step Up Trevor Louise said through the competition they hope to get stories of the victims as well as the bullies.

“We want an apercu of why the bullies do it and what the victims go through. We need to hear their stories,” he said.

He said they want to keep this competition as open as possible.

“We do not want to restrict anyone who has gone through bullying or has bullied to express themselves so there are not many criteria except for the word limit of 2000 words for short stories and we expect them to talk from the heart,” he said.
