Elderly dies two days before 104th birthday |27 May 2017
Seychelles has lost one of its senior citizens.
Eugenia Sangol passed away at her home on Wednesday May 24 at the age of 103.
A resident of Mont Plaisir, Anse Royale, Mrs Sangol was to celebrate her 104th birthday yesterday ‒ May 26, 2017 ‒ the day she was laid to rest.
She had only one son.
According to reports, because Mr Sangol had fallen ill, a group of senior citizens of Anse Royale brought her her hamper from President Danny Faure on Monday.
When Mrs Sangol celebrated her 103rd birthday last year, Vice-President Vincent Meriton, who was then the Minister for Social Affairs, Community Development and Sports, said reaching 103 years old is a milestone that will mark the Anse Royale district.
He added that Ms Sangol should be proud of her life and will always be remembered for her hard work.
