Football - Au Cap link up with ISPC in new agreement for 2017 season |29 May 2017

Division two side Au Cap have taken a further step towards boosting their promotion chances this season, that is, after the team signed a sponsorship agreement with ISPC Seychelles, which will see the local business provide them with financial support.

It was ISPC’s chief executive Alfred Fourcroy who made the agreement official, along with Au Cap manager Nichol Dogley, by signing on the dotted line to ensure the co-operation between the two parties becomes official.

The signing of the agreement was done at the Au Cap playing field where the team train and it is now the third year in a row that ISPC has lent a helping hand to Au Cap, although this agreement is their biggest contribution yet.

“I am very happy to be here for a third time in three years and I am hoping we can continue this collaboration and that it can continue to be rewarded with good performances on the pitch,” said Mr Fourcroy in his address to the players and staff of the Au Cap football team present on Friday evening.

At the time of the presentation, Au Cap were on top of the league standings and although that changed later on with Glacis winning their match, Mr Fourcroy said he hopes the team can maintain this momentum and eventually make the number one spot their own.

“We at ISPC believe in team spirit, whether it is in sports or other places and we hope that you keep doing well and we will also be doing our part to support the team,” he added.

The agreement will see ISPC take care of a lot of the expenses the team make, which includes transportation, water bottles for match and training, laundry, first aid kits and other equipment and as part of the agreement, the team will receive a fee of R4,500 for every win they get, which is sure to be a motivation for the side as they continue their quest for promotion to the top division after spending five years in the second tier.

ISPC also presented the team with three sets of training kits and as a show of gratitude, Au Cap presented Mr Fourcroy with a football signed by all team players.

“The progress we have made during the past years has been in part due to the support from ISPC and I know that the players will be doing their very best on the pitch to make you proud,” said Mr Dogley.

Au Cap finished in fifth place last season and this year find themselves among the title challengers with the first round of the league almost over.
