Crèche pupils receive educational toys from STC on Children’s Day |03 June 2017

Crèche pupils around the country will once again this year enjoy the benefits of playing with educational toys provided by the Seychelles Trading Company.

The company handed over a consignment as a gift to the crèche division of Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development (MEHRD) on Children’s Day.

It is the fourth consecutive year that the Seychelles Trading Company (STC) hands over such a gift to crèche pupils on this auspicious occasion to make them feel more special.

STC’s public relations officer Stephanie Felix handed over the toys to the director general (DG) for schools Odile Octave during a short ceremony attended by STC staff, education officers and some crèche pupils.

Ms Felix said STC decided to be part of this special celebration once again by donating educational toys for fine motor skills development for crèche pupils.

“These toys have special attributes which will help the child’s education and personal development. We provided an assorted batch of attractive puzzles with different patterns and colours which will help them learn about colours, shapes and also develop their ability to make choices,” she said.

Miss Octave said the ministry is very happy and grateful for this donation of toys has come at an opportune time ‒ on Children’s Day.

“The gifts for these children will be of great value for all our schools especially the crèches as through play the pupils develop immensely. Play lays the foundation for literacy,” she said.
