In the National Assembly this week - Three ministers to answer questions |06 June 2017

Three ministers will answer members’ questions in the National Assembly today and tomorrow.

Habitat, Infrastructure and Land Transport Minister Charles Bastienne will answer 12 oral questions relating to his ministry.

The Minister for Fisheries and Agriculture Michael Benstrong will answer a private notice question by the leader of the opposition, Wavel Ramkalawan, regarding fishermen’s concerns during the south-east monsoon season.

As for the Minister for Health, Jean-Paul Adam, he will answer an urgent question by elected member for La Digue, Noline Sophola, concerning the outbreak of dengue fever in the country.

In addition three motions will be tabled:

● Honourable Ramkalawan is calling on the Assembly to put in place a new structure for La Digue management in order to better manage the inhabitants’ concerns;

● Honourable Jude Valmont, elected member for Pointe Larue, is asking that the government establishes a mechanism to identify and monitor economic activities in the informal sectors for small businesses; and

● Honourable Jean Francois Ferrari, elected member for Mont Fleuri, is tabling a motion regarding new payment tariffs for stevedores.
