A five-member delegation headed by the Minister for Employment, Entrepreneurship Development and Business Innovation Wallace Cosgrow is taking part in the June 5-16 conference which is the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) highest decision-making body. It meets annually in June, bringing together the tripartite delegations from the ILO 187 member states.

The conference comprises a plenary and of technical committees. During the intermediate plenary sittings, delegates may take part in discussions on the reports of the chairperson of the governing body and of the director general.

The conference will also be celebrating World Day Against Child Labour on June 12, with an event to be held at the Palais des Nations. This year’s theme is ‘In conflicts and disasters, protect children from child labour’.
