Malaysian university seeks to enroll more Seychellois students

The Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) in Malaysia is organising an Open Day on the June 22 and 23 at the Eden Bleu Hotel with the aim of attracting more Seychellois students.

Seychellois students have been going to that university since 2007 and currently around 30 are studying there either sponsored by the government or are funding their own studies.

The APU Open Day in Seychelles is to provide a platform for prospective Seychellois students to come and meet the university’s representatives to discuss their career prospects in the wide areas of study programmes offered at APU.

Seychelles NATION contacted Jaheen Hameed, manager international development at APU for more details about the event.  “There will be two presentation sessions on “Careers in Computing, Technology & Engineering”, and “Careers in Business, Finance & International Relations”. Students will also have the chance to sit with our counsellors and admission staff for one-to-one discussions so that we can guide the visiting prospective students better. APU offers a wide range of programmes within the scope of Technology, Engineering, Business & Design. The Seychellois students with us are pursuing their higher studies in a variety of areas including Computing & Information Technology, International Relations, Cyber Security, Forensic Computing, Business & Management, Tourism Management, International Business, Engineering, Accounting & Finance, among many others. The APU team will be in Seychelles on June 22 (tomorrow) and June 23 (Friday) to meet students. On June 22, we will be having the “APU Open Day in Seychelles” event from 9am to 3pm at Eden Bleu Hotel, Eden Island where the presentations as well as one-to-one counselling sessions with the APU team will take place. On June 23, our team will still be available for one-to-one counselling sessions on appointment.”
