Local stars to pay tribute to influential singer Joseph Louise |23 June 2017

After many years of entertaining us with his good music, Joseph Louise AKA Ton Joe will be live in his first concert, in a special tribute to commemorate his long and successful career in the music industry.

Other local musicians will also be there to pay tribute to the talented singer.

The concert will be held on June 30 at the mini-stadium (La Promenade playing field) in Victoria.

The tribute will focus on Joseph Louise’s outstanding accomplishments during his exceptional career since 1975.

During this time the singer, famous for such songs as Ti Kreol Leo, Zanpoul Soulye, Separasyon, Ou Pa Pou May Mon among others, has released 29 cassette albums and ten CDs.

The concert is being organised by Casamba Production in collaboration with various artists who have great respect for the veteran singer who has in a way paved the way for them to succeed.

The producer of Casamba Production, Basil Bouchereau, stated that such a talented artist as Joseph Louise must be recognised when they are still alive.

“The concert will pay tribute to an outstanding singer, who has got the ability to enthrall everyone with his skills,” he said.

Among the artists who will be present to pay tribute to Ton Joe include Philip Toussaint, Master Emel, Francois Larue, Fred Savy, Bruce Freminot, Antoinette Dodin, George Payet, Andy Zialor, Jean Quatre, Daniel Cesar, John Wirtz, Florette Botsoie, Guito, Davis Accouche, Jean-Marc Volcy, Elijah and Ras Ricky.

The show will be opened by Extra Big and Champion accompanied by band Laflanm.

Ton Joe has also stated that he is ready to perform for all his fans on June 30.

“I promise all my fans that I will be there to deliver a great show. Everything is going according to plan, and we are all ready to deliver. I am happy that some people are willing to give me such opportunity in my career, and still believe in me,” he said.

If you are a big fan of Joseph Louise tickets are already on sale at Tanmi Shop, NAC (National Arts Council) and Dara’s Shop for R150. The show will start at 8pm and is expected to last for five hours.
