Hotel industry - 11 supervisors and managers enhance their skills |26 June 2017

Training in the hotel industry is one key element in maintaining a high standard of service. In this line, 11 supervisors and managers from the Hilton group - Seychelles took part in a three- day training at DoubleTree Allamanda.

“This is the 2nd level of training for supervisors and new appointed manager as part of their development.  Hilton has some structured development programmes to equip team members at different levels so that they can grow.  Elevate 2 focuses more on 5 main competencies that supervisors and managers should possess and demonstrate throughout their employment with the company.  The training is properly structured and is conducted by certified trainers only.  Instead of conducting it in six modules over 9 months, we did it in three consecutive days,” noted Doreen D’Souza, the resort’s manager.

She also mentioned that this training will enhance the skills of supervisors and managers to better manage their team and the business.

After the training, the participants mentioned on the evaluation form that the training will help them on the floor with both guests and team members and also for their growth.

They like the practical activities whereby they had the chance to put the theory into practice.

“Now they all have to work on three projects until October before they graduate in November,” added Ms D’Souza.
