In brief, Constant Capital is a licensed stock broker and is able to offer clients access to international stock markets, foreign exchange trading (online CFD platforms) and the ability to list their company or fund on the Seychelles Stock Exchange (Trop-X). Constant Capital was the founding stock broker on the Exchange and it owns a combined 21.3% of the Exchange. The company has been investing and managing mainly international client money for about 5 years. However now it is offering a locally-targeted investment product.

A bit of history

Daron Walker CEO, started in the financial markets in 1987. After completing a degree in Bachelor of Economics, with Honors from the University of Cape Town, he joined Gencor, one of South Africaʼs largest mining companies, as a trader in their investment division. After a year he was promoted to head of trading for the group. In 1995 the company was absorbed into Sanlam, the largest insurance and investment company in South Africa. In 2005 Daron was awarded as the top three traders for the decade.
At Sanlam Daron held various investment roles, including managing their proprietary capital and establishing and managing their own stock broker business. In 2005 he left Sanlam to found Constant Capital South Africa. He started his own stock broking business and established a hedge fund business (Bex). The primary fund was the best performing fund in South Africa for two years recording a 80% return on NAV (Net Asset Value) in that period.
In 2011 he turned his attention to setting up the Stock Exchange in the Seychelles and creating Constant Capital. The company has listed the majority of all new companies on the Exchange and is the number one broker by size in the region. Daron and his partners have established the first hedge fund based in the region.

Daniel Vadivello, Business Development Manager of CONSTANT Capital and also well-known in the entertainment business in Seychelles as DJ Ezy D, is an agent of Constant Capital here and has been working for the company since 2013. He sheds more light on what that company really does.

“It’s a simple but much more lucrative alternative to the bank’s fixed savings account with higher returns. We offer clients the option of buying locally-traded shares like the State Assurance Corporation of Seychelles (SACOS) and the Seychelles Breweries Limited (Seybrew) but also opportunity to invest in international markets. We are currently offering a mix portfolio which comprises local and international stocks, bonds, exchange-traded fund and closed funds. Note that the more you invest, the higher the returns,” says Daniel.

He says this service is available here and there are many people making a lot of money from it. Now, he says, they want the public to know about it also.

“You can invest however much you want. Basically, it is about making your money work for you,” explains Daniel.

How does a person start investing?

People interested in investing in CONSTANT Capital has to go to its office on the 1st floor, Eden Plaza to open a free account. They need to bring their ID, proof of address and a recent bank statement for the account to be created. Then they deposit money in the account and they get started!

Daniel gives more details on how a person benefits from CONSTANT Capital.

“There is no catch. We take a nominal fee of 1% and we charge a processing flat fee of R500 per transaction.  Your dividend is paid quarterly or yearly and you get a monthly statement via email and you are free to increase your investment at any time. However, an early redemption fee is 25%.

Daniel says they are the first offering such a business here in Seychelles. Their team consists of five people.

“So far the business is doing great,” says Daniel.
