Indian association to extend its art of living programmes |10 July 2017

Encouraged by positive results at the Plaisance and Anse Royale homes for the elderly, the Indian Association of Seychelles is planning to conduct art of living (AOL) programmes at other similar homes in the country.

The association also aims to conduct happiness programmes in different parts of the country following its success at the Vivekanandha yoga club where nearly 150 people benefited and got the physical and mental improvement they were searching for.

Talking about the AOL programmes at the Plaisance and Anse Royale homes for the elderly, a spokesman for the Indian Association of Seychelles said that residents felt relaxed and rejuvenated, both physically and mentally, after completing the course.

“It helps them also to overcome the loneliness and stress,” the spokesperson added.

Bramachari Sureshji, who is from Art of Living International Centre, India, conducted this course, which  consists of breathing techniques, meditation, simple yoga, stretching exercise and unique breathing technique ‘SUDHARSHAN KRIYA’, which are all taught in an organised way to achieve good result.

Noting that service is the main motto of AOL, the association is planning to initiate various AOL workshops for children, teens, adults and senior citizens, deaddiction programmes and some health related service projects among others.

The organisation operates globally in 155 countries and has touched the lives of over 370 million people. The AOL is a multi-faceted organisation with one of the largest volunteer bases in the world.
