Seychelles high commissioner to Sri Lanka accredited |12 July 2017

 

 

 

 

Conrad Mederic has been accredited as Seychelles’ high commissioner to Sri Lanka.

He presented his credentials to Maithripala Sirisena, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, at his official residence on Wednesday June 28, 2017.

HC Mederic is the third resident high commissioner extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Seychelles to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

During the ceremony HC Mederic also met the newly appointed Sri Lankan Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ravi Karunayake.

Following the ceremony the Seychellois high commissioner met both the Sri Lankan President and the Foreign Affairs minister to discuss issues of bilateral importance between Sri Lanka and Seychelles.

HC Mederic extended the greetings of President Danny Faure to President Sirisena and also emphasised the need for follow up actions after President Faure’s visit to Sri Lanka in March 2017.

These include cooperation in fields such as agriculture, trade, legal, judicial, health, cooperation in the fight against the drug menace, fisheries and education.

HC Mederic reiterated President Faure’s invitation to President Sirisena to visit Seychelles.
