Anse Royale Hospital to have new roof and refurbished dental services soon |13 July 2017

The new dental clinic at Anse Royale will begin operations soon while the hospital, the roof of which has been rusting away rapidly, will be re-roofed entirely.

Health Minister Jean-Paul Adam said this during a meeting at Anse Royale Hospital on Thursday last week in the presence of the member of the National Assembly for Anse Royale, Sylvanne Lemiel. Mrs Lemiel had requested the meeting to receive an update on progress of work at the hospital.

“We already have all the materials and pieces of equipment required for the dental clinic,” Minister Adam said, reassuring staff of Anse Royale Hospital and others present.

“In a few weeks’ time, all the structural work will be completed,” he said.

Regarding plans for the re-roofing, the meeting expressed concerns about interruptions that could occur.

Minister Adam gave assurances that interruptions would be minimal because of the presence of a concrete ceiling over which the corrugated iron sheets will be laid.

“The construction work will have little or no effect on the clinical operations. We are working with the contractors to make sure that everything runs smoothly and safely,” the minister reassured.
