Public invited to session on global changes impacting taxes |25 July 2017

Members of the public are being invited to an interactive session on the global changes impacting taxes.

The session will take place tomorrow, Wednesday July 26, 2017 from 11am to 12.30pm at Care House, Freedom Square.

The session, hosted by Sifsa (Seychelles International Financial Services Association), will be led by Dr Ramon Dwarkasing, the founding chairman of the Forum on Economic and Fiscal Policy (FEFP) based in the Netherlands.

He will speak about the challenges, opportunities and consequences of globalisation for the Seychelles and its tax system.

The session, which will cover the latest think tank in the EU and its impact on Seychelles and its tax system, comes at an opportune time as Seychelles’ tax system is to be revamped to KIS.

Dr Dwarkasing is specialised in taxation, with a particular focus on tax policy and transfer pricing.

He acts as special independent advisor to governments and non-governmental organisations on fiscal matters.

Before leading the FEFP, Dr Dwarkasing was affiliated as associate professor to the Maastricht University (The Netherlands) and Tilburg University (The Netherlands). Dr Dwarkasing holds a PhD in transfer pricing and taxation.

The Forum on Economic and Fiscal Policy (www.fefp.org) is a non-profit, independent international think tank based in The Hague, Netherlands - Europe. Its mission is to conduct high-quality, independent research and, based on that research, provide innovative, practical recommendations that advance its main broad goal: to improve the quality of global economic and fiscal policy with open and fact-based research, analysis and debate from a multistakeholder perspective.

The main principal assets of the FEFP’s research are independency, professional integrity and objectivity. The Forum convenes the most relevant actors from all sectors - business, government, academia and civil society - in a high-level, informal environment of dialogue and science.

Those wishing to attend the session tomorrow are asked to confirm their attendance to secretariat@sifsa.sc
