Survey staff demand new scheme of service |28 July 2017

Survey staff will get a new and revised scheme of service by next year provided the finished document reaches the President’s Office before September 27, 2017 ‒ the deadline for any expenses to be included in the 2018 budget.

President Danny Faure said this after a staff member of the surveys section requested that they get a new scheme of service, adding that this has long been coming.

Habitat principal secretary Denis Barbé explained that they have already worked on a draft of the revised scheme of service with the revised job descriptions.

The only issue, he said, is they do not have a human resource manager, but Habitat, Infrastructure and Land Transport Minister Charles Bastienne explained that despite this they are working on finalising the scheme.

Chief secretary and head of public service Jessie Esparon explained that when a new scheme of service is sent to the Department of Public Administration (DPA) for approval, it is scrutinised to see whether or not the posts have been well evaluated.

President Faure concluded that the “request of the surveys section staff will be given top priority as you work hard, work overtime to deliver on the number of requests among those the 800 plots of land by 2020”.
