Ambassador Radegonde accredited as new permanent delegate of Seychelles to Unesco |21 August 2017

Seychelles’ Paris-based ambassador, Sylvestre Radegonde, has been accredited as the new permanent delegate of Seychelles to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco).

He presented his credentials to Irina Bokova, the director general of Unesco, at the organisation’s  headquarters in Paris on Wednesday.

Ambassador Radegonde and Mrs Bokova reviewed Unesco’s activities, particularly those centred on Africa and small island developing states.

The director general expressed her appreciation for Seychelles’ active participation and involvement in these activities.

Mrs Bokova leaves her post later this year at the end of her eight-year term of office.

Ambassador Radegonde took the opportunity to thank her for her leadership of the organisation as well as for the special attention she has consistently given Africa and small island developing states in Unesco’s activities and programmes.
