Banyan Tree Seychelles has a new general manager, Fabrice Collot, who took over the overall running, administration and service standards of the hotel in August this year.

Mr Collot, a French native, joins Banyan Tree Seychelles with a wealth of expertise in the field of administration and hospitality. He has over 27 years of experience in senior management roles across four continents.

Mr Collot, who joined the Banyan Tree group in 2007, has also worked at Banyan Tree Macau, Banyan Tree Al Areen Spa and Resort in Bahrain, and the Angsana Riads Collection in Marrakech, Morocco which is operated by the Banyan Tree group.

Banyan Tree Seychelles is located at Intendance, Takamaka, on the southwestern coast of Mahé.

Boasting 60 exquisite Creole-style villas, blended among lush tropical vegetation, with superb views of the ocean, the resort which opened its doors in October 2002, is located near the unspoiled and pristine beach of Intendance.

Mr Collot said: “I am just coming from another very small island Macau and I have received a very warm and friendly welcome to Seychelles. I feel very lucky to be heading one of Seychelles iconic properties on the stunning Mahé Island, so I can say without an ounce of hesitation that it feels good to be here.”

“Banyan Tree Macau is the leading property there in terms of occupancy and room rate, it’s also one of the only 11 Forbes triple five-star hotel in the world. I want to bring the same level of quality and attention to detail to Banyan Tree Seychelles. Our team and I will work relentlessly toward that goal to deliver the Banyan Tree experience to the fullest,” he added.

Mr Collot graduated from the School of Hospitality in Marseille, France, where he attained his Certificate of Cooking and Waiter and a double Master Degree in Hospitality and Cooking, Pastry, Wine Vintage and enrolled in the Master Degree in Business Administration from Cornell University.

He started off his career working at the French consulate general in Jerusalem, then the French embassy in Ukraine, before deciding to open his own French restaurant and pastry shop at two different locations in the United States in 1997.

After seven years venturing out as an entrepreneur, he joined the Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 in St Petersburg Russia as the director of food and beverage.

He has also accumulated a wealth of managerial experience working at the Maradiva Villas Resort and Spa in Mauritius, as well as Wanda Realm Ma’anshan and Wanda Tianjin in China.
