Seychelles Consul General in Hong Kong donates to National Assembly |13 September 2017

The National Assembly of Seychelles has received a donation of US $30,000 (approximately R400,000) from the Seychelles Consul General in Hong Kong, Chen Ning Ning Diana.

National Assembly Speaker Patrick Pillay said yesterday at the start of the parliament’s third term that the money is going towards upgrading the IT system of the House under the management of IT manager Stanley Allaguain.

“An upgraded, modernised and better equipped IT unit will ease the assembly’s communication hiccups. The idea is also to eventually have a YouTube channel which  would allow all assembly members as well as secretariat staff to have better communication exchanges with members of the public,” Speaker Pillay said as he expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ms Chen on behalf of all members of the house.
