‘Paris Seychelles’ – a new dining concept combining the tastes of France and Seychelles |16 September 2017

When it comes to food, the Seychelles’ Creole cuisine is characterised by the influence of different corners of the world having a historic connection with the Indian Ocean archipelago.

Seychellois food is a fusion of European tastes of Britain and France that blend with Asian flavours from China and India while also being rooted in the African continent.

Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove hotel has chosen to unveil a new dining concept that draws upon one of the island nation’s historic link – the French connection.

Set on the picturesque pontoon of Le Méridien Fisherman’s Cove, the new concept – ‘Paris Seychelles’ brings to life a piece of the Seychelles’ history and combines the French classic gastronomy with the island’s rich cultural heritage.

The menu created by the hotel’s French and Seychellois chefs offers a range of dishes from poached mango foie gras to Seychellois bouillabaisse.

The general manager of Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove, Romain Chanet, said: “Paris Seychelles is a culinary journey from France to Seychelles and celebrates the historic connection between these two countries and their rich culinary heritage.”

“Traditional French dishes are reinterpreted using local creole ingredients, creating a delightful array of dishes that make dining an enticing experience,” he added.

Aside from the food, the décor of Paris Seychelles also combines elements from the two distinct but strongly connected cultures. From French styled salt, to classy glassware and wooden presentation plates engraved with the Paris Seychelles logo, the details have been carefully thought through to create a more interesting dining experience. French and Creole music playing in the background also add to the ambiance.

Open to both visitors and residents of Seychelles, ‘Paris Seychelles’ is open for dinner from Tuesdays to Sundays from 7pm until 10.30pm.

Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove is offering some promotional offers including an inaugural discount of 10% on the total bill throughout the months of September and October 2017 for residents.

Residents also stand the chance of winning two prizes: one night stay at the hotel in a junior suite along with a cooking lesson, and a 3-night stay at Le Meridien Etoile Paris, inclusive of Air Seychelles flights to Paris for 2 persons. The winners of the two prizes will be announced at the end of September and October, respectively.
