Another kidney screening exercise this Sunday at Anse Etoile |22 September 2017

The Lions Club of Seychelles is organising a third kidney screening activity for people in the northern region.

The screening will take place this Sunday at the Anse Etoile community centre from 9am to 4pm and is targeting people from Anse Etoile, North East Point, Maldives, La Retraite, La Gogue, Ma Constance and neighbouring regions of Glacis and Beau Vallon.

Those coming for the screening are advised not to fast prior to the activity.

This kidney screening forms part of a national screening programme for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) which is part of the centennial celebration of the Lions Club of Seychelles.

This project, which is targeting adults above 40 years, diagnoses diabetes, hypertension, obesity and kidney disease.

Launched at the Stad Popiler car park on May 28 this year, the programme is a joint venture between the Lions Club of Seychelles, the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Airtel.

It was followed by a second screening on August 20 at Anse Royale.

The target is to eventually cover all districts in Seychelles.
