Lulu Yoga opens new health & fitness studio in Victoria |29 September 2017

 

Following the success of a range of fitness/wellness classes and in an attempt to cater for the increasingly high demand of the services, Lulu Yoga opened the doors to its new studio on September 11, 2017 and is dedicated to helping people combat the growing and alarming issues of obesity, overweight, fitness and dietary problems in Seychelles. This month, the studio is offering a free first class to everyone until October 15, 2017.

The studio, which targets all areas of lifestyle, including exercise, nutrition and the mind, is run by qualified Yoga and Pilates instructor, Lucie, who has also studied Specialised Nutrition. Based in the heart of Victoria at Docklands, New Port, the studio can be found in Room 13 and is open to everyone, including children.

When asked what inspired her to open a fitness studio, Lucie says that upon her return to Seychelles last year from her studies, she realised that the rate of obesity and dietary problems had increased dramatically in the five years that she was away.

“I also realised that many people did not know where to turn for help with exercise, diet and lifestyle,” she adds.

Lucie explains that because our bodies function as a whole, her classes are designed to target every area of our lifestyles which ultimately help people achieve their fitness goals.

“With so much stress in our lives nowadays, she says that it can feel like there is never time to invest in our health. However, the first step to resolve this is gaining control of the mind/body, learning how to relax and calming all the thoughts in our heads,” she says.

Lulu Yoga studio offers a selection of classes including: Yoga, Pilates, Fitness Fusion, Personal Training, Intimate Group Training, Nutrition Options and Mindfulness. Additionally, individual packages can be created based exactly on what the person wants/needs. The studio also aims to provide healthy, cold pressed juices and nutritious snacks for adults as well as for kids.

Exercise programmes

Fitness Fusion – For toning and sculpting, this 60 minute boot-camp-style class uses pilates, yoga, aerobics and cardio to burn calories, create balance of core strength and sculpt muscles.The fresh mix-ups not only challenge your muscles in new ways, but also keep you motivated by spicing up been-there-done-that routines.

 

Pilates - An innovative and safe system of mind-body exercises using a floor mat or a variety of equipment. It evolved from the principles of Joseph Pilates and can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. Pilates builds strength without excess bulk, capable of creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a flat abdomen.

 

Yoga - An ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. It is a safe and effective way to increase physical activity, especially strength, flexibility and balance.

Yogalates - A combination of the best of Yoga and Pilates, it is an ever-increasing popular exercise due to its positive effects on the body and the mind alike. It is superb for flexibility, muscle toning and endurance, as well as an effective way to work and tone the whole body, leaving you feeling centred and calm.

Gentle Yogalates - This workout is suitable for beginners or anyone with a limited range of movement. It is far less strenuous than other forms of Yoga or Pilates. It is beneficial to participants who want to gain strength, increase flexibility and improve their overall fitness level. Gentle Yogalates accomplishes its goals of providing a workout without putting any unnecessary strain on you.

Restorative Candlelight Yoga - A restorative yoga sequence typically involves only a few poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance. These soothing and well-supported poses offer you the opportunity to linger quietly for a few moments and savour the simple sweetness of life.

Hot classes - Hot classes are carried out in a warm room to systematically cleanse every part of the body and to provide a complete mind/body workout. The heated room promotes sweating which helps rid toxins from the body while loosening and stretching the muscles to prevent injuries. Hot classes improves circulation, increases metabolism, regulates digestion, strengthens the immune system and burns fat.
