Students seeking more information about Malaysian universities during the exhibition

Newly graduated and mature Seychellois students had the opportunity recently to get to know the various possibilities for further studies in Malaysia in an exhibition at Eden Bleu hotel.

This marked the third event organised by Malaysia Education Centre (Mec). Currently there are around 100 Seychellois students studying in various Malaysian universities.

The students accompanied by their parents had the opportunity to interact with the seven universities present, such as the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), Segi University, Sunway University, The University of Nottinham Malaysia Campus, among others.

The managing director of Mec, Fadil Ruhomutally, stated the event was a total success, also that Mec represents some 50 universities in Malaysia.

“We are currently working closely with the Agency for National Human Resource Development (ANHRD) to provide more concrete information to the students. Such exhibition gives the Seychellois students the chance to meet university representatives in person, and gather as much information they can on their respective university. We also guide the students on the documents needed in the required format for smooth procedures.  Students willing to apply for University in 2018 can start contacting us, so that the necessary arrangements can be made for a smooth transition,” he said.

A mature student currently working as a nurse was also present to seek more information for a degree.

“At present I am working at the Seychelles Hospital as a nurse. I have just finished my advanced diploma and I want to get a degree in midwifery. I took the opportunity to gather as much information I can, and hopefully to further my studies in a Malaysian university,” she said.
