President pays visit to sisters at St Joseph de Cluny convent |16 October 2017

President Danny Faure spent yesterday afternoon visiting the sisters of St Joseph de Cluny Convent in Victoria.

The president was greeted at the convent by the provincial leader, Sister Marie-Nita, who took him for a brief tour of the convent and introduced him to the other sisters.

During the visit, the sisters briefed the president on their work and daily activities. The president's visit was also an opportunity to discuss some of the convent's most pressing needs.

Some of the sisters present were former teachers and nurses. The president, on behalf of the people of Seychelles, thanked them for their invaluable contribution in educating the children of Seychelles and for their devotion and care in the delivery of health services.

Meanwhile, earlier during the weekend, the president also met citizens on La Digue and Praslin.

Honouring the commitment he made to members of the inner island community, on Friday and Saturday President Faure met members of the public who had requested an appointment to see him by letter.

President Faure met residents of La Digue on Friday morning, and residents of Praslin on Friday afternoon and Saturday.

This marks the third time this year he visits the inner islands to meet citizens.
