SAFETY ON THE ROAD |18 October 2017

The dates ranging from September 25 to October 5 have seen us recording a total of 97 accidents with 16 injuries and 79 damaged vehicles. This same period has also recorded 2 fatal accidents on the roads being 1 on Praslin and 1 on Mahé.

 

October 6 to October 12 on the other hand, proved to be a period with fewer accidents with a total of only 26 road accidents. There have been 6 cases of injury and 46 damaged vehicles.

 

The Road Safety Advisory Committee is committed to the task of sharing essential Road Safety Guidance for drivers and pedestrians alike. We caution all drivers & pedestrians to be alert and stay safe at all times on the roads.

 

Defensive Driving Behaviour

  • Drivers be responsible with seatbelt wearing - Always wear your seat belt and ensure that everyone in the vehicle is wearing theirs.
