Action against crimes Community Crime Watch Seychelles calls on public to sign petition for action |18 November 2017

Members of the Community Crime Watch Seychelles, a group very active on the social media, was at the post office in Victoria yesterday to encourage members of the public concerned by insecurity in the country to sign a petition for serious actions to tackle crimes.

Members of the group, victims of continuous robberies, said they are fed up by the aggravating situation of insecurity and they want the authorities to take action.

Many people who passed by willingly gave their support to the cause by signing the petition, copies of which will be presented to President Danny Faure, the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Wavel Ramkalawan, Minister for Home Affairs Macsuzy Mondon, Minister for Family Affairs Jeanne Simeon, Minister for Education and Human Resource Development Joel Morgan, Attorney General Frank Ally, Commissioner of Police Kishnan Labonte among many other key persons in high offices.

The petition targeted as many signatures as possible to raise awareness.

Meanwhile, a similar petition is being circulated online and is also expected to be presented to key persons in high authority in the country.
