Mass raises awareness of road safety |23 November 2017

Faithful Christians and police officers gathered yesterday afternoon at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Victoria for a mass to commemorate Road safety Week.

Also present was Assistant Superintendent Antoine Desnousse, who is in charge of the traffic section of the police.

Preaching after the readings, Father David Alcindor stated that such a mass allows people to reflect on the importance of being safe on the roads.

“Our roads are dangerous places, where a lot of deaths and serious injuries take place every week. So let’s take this opportunity to pray for all who work on the street and for those who lost their lives while on duty,” he said.

Other activities organised to commemorate Road Safety Week include an exhibition, training of school wardens and a family fun day.

By changing our driving behaviour, we can help to make our roads safer. Every action that we take, as a driver or as a passenger, can change the outcome of a journey and the future of a family.
