Partners get on-board dining experience on Qatar Airways |24 November 2017

Travel agents and media personnel received an on-board dining experience to celebrate the recent upgrade of Qatar Airways aircraft on the Doha to Seychelles route and the re-launching of Qatar flights to Seychelles last year.

Qatar Airways is the national carrier of the State of Qatar. Currently undergoing rapid expansion, Qatar Airways is one of the fastest growing airlines operating one of the youngest fleets in the world and it has recently won the Skytrax Airline of the Year 2017.

This award was won partly to the amazing service given on the aircraft by the cabin crew along with the top cuisine which the travel agents and media personnel received on the aircraft flying on the Doha to Seychelles route which has been upgraded from an A320 to A330.

Qatar Airways manager corporate communication Daisy Ellen Omissi said this upgrade is a very big enhancement which will be very much appreciated by their passengers flying to and from Mahé.

“This aircraft is exceptionally comfortable for an approximately five hour flight, with extra spacious seats and up to 4000 entertainment options on offer such as movies, games, music,” she said.

She said they are very proud to have been recognised for the fourth time by passengers who vote for this award.

“The success of this route and demand from passengers was illustrated by our commitment to fly an even bigger and better aircraft here. Seychelles is one of the most popular tourist destinations which includes more than 150 places. As you know the competition is really tough but Seychelles is right up there,” she said.

She noted that Qatar airways marks its 20th anniversary this year.

“2017 is a very special year for our airline and we like nothing more than to share our celebrations with our partners, passengers and supporters,” she said.

The Seychelles commercial manager Sherif Ahmed said business has been very good on the Seychelles route as the tourism number has gone up 20% during the past year.

“We are very happy to continue our operations here in Seychelles and soon we will have marketing campaign to increase awareness about Qatar duty free and the awards the airline has received to increase the number of passengers they receive,” he said.
