Air Seychelles cargo handling at its highest ahead of Christmas season |06 December 2017

Air Seychelles has recorded the highest tonnage ever of cargo handled in a single day.

This feat was achieved on December 1, 2017 when the airlines’ cargo department handled a total of 108 tonnes of consignment of which 71 tonnes arrived to Seychelles on a number of carriers including Air Seychelles, Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways.  

The remaining 37 tonnes were sent out of Seychelles to various destinations across the globe to Mauritius, Johannesburg and Paris.

Air Seychelles alone carried a total of 83 tonnes both on inbound and outbound flights combined.

Roy Kinnear, chief executive of Air Seychelles, said: “This is an amazing achievement by the Air Seychelles Cargo Division team and I am proud of their accomplishment. This is the result of close collaboration with both overseas and Seychelles’ partners, especially importers and exporters.”
