Three Seychellois arrested for importation of drugs through post office |13 December 2017

The heroin seized in the parcel

The Magistrate Court on Monday remanded three Seychellois -- two women and a man -- following their arrest by ANB officers last Thursday for the importation of a controlled drug through the post office.

The 22-year-old man involved in this case, a fisherman of Perseverance, was arrested in Victoria in possession of approximately 150 grammes of suspected heroin packaged in a small parcel which he received from a 32-year-old female financial office assistance of Anse Soleil, Baie Lazare who earlier on that day collected the parcel from Kenya at the Seychelles Post Office, Victoria. She was later arrested at the ANB station.

The other woman involved in this case, the man’s sister, a 25-year-old airline and reservation consultant, was also later arrested at the ANB station.

All three are being remanded until December 22, 2017 when they will appear before the court to be formerly charged.
