Lablache returns as best windsurfer |15 December 2017
Praslinois Bertrand Lablache is back as windsurfer of the year after relinquishing the title to fellow sailboarder Jean-Marc Gardette who also hails from Praslin.
Lablache performed well in different competitions as he finished first in the National Championship giving a great performance.
To show his worth, he also performed well at international level, finishing on the highest step of the podium in the Défi Wind 40km competition and second in the IFCA Grand Prix competition. He was also ranked third in the Regional Sailing Championship.
All three events were held in Mauritius.
Runner-up Gardette also gave a great show, however he wasn’t able to retain the title he won in 2016.
He finished second in the National Championship, but he however did put on an impressive show in the RSX African Championship which was held recently in Egypt. He finished in the second spot, showing real determination.
