Mini-Christmas market brings livelier atmosphere to Beau Vallon |22 December 2017

Since the middle of the week, the most famous beach in Seychelles, Beau Vallon has gained a new attraction for locals and tourists.

Many people will have noticed some new kiosks that have been put in place to allow local entrepreneurs to sell their products during the Christmas season.

The kiosks are located next to La Plage Restaurant, and such amazing initiative has been made possible by local businesses ISPC, Lefevre and Mancienne family.

The idea behind the Mini-Christmas market is to make Beau Vallon livelier during the Christmas season and allow our local entrepreneurs to market their goods and sell it at reasonable prices.

During a tour of the Mini-Christmas market on Wednesday evening, the Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine Maurice Loustau-Lalanne applauded the organisers for giving the local entrepreneurs such opportunity, and making Beau Vallon livelier during the night.

“Victoria has become livelier than ever, with all the Christmas lights at night. With the help of local businesses, Beau Vallon has become more attractive for the Christmas season; local entrepreneurs can now sell their products in a more comfortable environment for this festive season,” he said.

He added that even though the kiosks are temporary, they are trying to negotiate a fixed area for those local entrepreneurs.

“The kiosks are temporary, but we have until January to negotiate a new and fixed area for our local entrepreneurs. We want to allow those hard working individuals to sell their products in a better and superior environment,” he said.

Ian Gendron, a local entrepreneur for the past five years, appreciates the initiative, saying it is a good way to advertise their products.

“It is a nice initiative to allow Beau Vallon to come to life during the Christmas season.  The kiosks will allow the small entrepreneurs to boost their sales during this Christmas season. Since the fair started the sale is going very well, and we hope that we can have a permanent place to market our products,” he said.

Local entrepreneurs are frequently thought of as national assets to be cultivated, motivated and remunerated to the greatest possible extent.
