Nativity play and carols heighten Christmas spirit |22 December 2017

A roomful of Christmas enthusiasts - children and adults alike - gathered in the International Conference Centre of Seychelles (ICCS) yesterday to enjoy an evening of nativity play and carols.

The one-hour long performance, now in its 12th year, was organised by the President’s Office, and was attended by President Danny Faure, Vice-President Vincent Meriton, Designated Minister MacSuzy Mondon and other high officials in the government.

A medley of children from the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches entertained the audience with a nativity illustrating the story of the birth of Jesus. The show was produced by renowned local musician, Patrick Victor.

Alongside these small actresses and actors were the Angels’ Choir and the Choral Music Society, directed by David Andre.

Popular Christmas classics such as Little Town of Bethlehem, Drummer Boy and Hark the Herald Angels Sing! were animatedly belted out by the choir groups.

The final performance saw the audience joining in with the chorus of We wish you a Merry Christmas.

Once the show concluded, attendees had the opportunity to take souvenir photos with the nativity cast.

The accompanying photos show some highlights of the evening.
