Rehabilitation centre hosts annual children’s Christmas party |28 December 2017

114 children aged up to 5 years who attend rehabilitation sessions across the country came together in a gathering to celebrate Christmas yesterday, December 27, at the Asian Fusion.

Alongside Airtel Seychelles, the Rehabilitation centre organised the small Christmas party for the children with special needs.  These children attended rehab for physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, cognitive therapy and others.

The party was attended by parents and the children themselves with a visit from Santa, Airtel employees and staff from the Rehab centre.

Marie-Pierre Volcère, who is CSR coordinator at Airtel Seychelles, explained that such activity is organised to put Christmas spirit in the children as they have special needs and don’t normally have the chance to attend such events like every other child.

“We’ve been doing this for 8 consecutive years now and we do it out of the goodness of our hearts. Airtel is hoping to continue helping the children in every way possible, even if it is not through parties but through other activities,” she said.

Also present was Wahida Payet who is in charge of the Rehabilitation Services.

“We are very grateful for everything that Airtel Seychelles does for us. The children feel extra special when such activities are organised. Airtel adopted the Rehabilitation so they are always helping us whether it is maintenance or equipment wise, so we appreciate such gestures,” she explained.

During the party, there were little games and activities organised for both the children and their parents.
