450 suspected cannabis plants uprooted on Praslin |18 January 2018

A 55-year-old unemployed man from Salazie, Côte D’or on Praslin has been remanded by the Magistrate Court until tomorrow when he will reappear before the court.

He was arrested on Tuesday by officers of the Praslin combined task force from the police department and SPDF for the offence of cultivation of a controlled drug at his premises.

A total of 450 suspected cannabis plants were uprooted on the same day on his land.

Two drug offenders arrested in Cascade and Mont Buxton

 

The Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) within the police department arrested two men yesterday in two separate operations for the offence of trafficking in a controlled drug.

In the first operation a 45-year-old male docker of Cascade was arrested in possession of approximately 152 grammes of suspected cannabis, 17 grammes of suspected cannabis resin, a sum of R1,850 and a digital scale.

In the second operation a 38-year-old male casual labourer of Mont Buxton was arrested in possession of approximately 2.94 grammes of suspected heroin.

Both suspects were processed at the ANB station and released with a case registered against them for the courts.
