Air Seychelles lends support to travellers affected by cyclone |23 January 2018

Air Seychelles came to the support of travellers affected by tropical cyclone Berguitta by operating two charter flights between Seychelles and Mauritius on Saturday January 20, 2018.

Operated back-to-back on an Airbus A330, the flights transported roughly 800 passengers between the islands after their travel itineraries were affected by the severe tropical storm.

Many airline departments came together to successfully organise the charter flights, including staff from the Operations Control Centre, flight and cabin crew, the ground handling and catering teams, as well as supporting commercial and financial roles.

Remco Althuis, interim chief executive of Air Seychelles, said: “We are glad that Air Seychelles was able to spring into action and provide timely assistance following the disruptions caused by cyclone Berguitta. Our staff worked together night and day as a team to organise the deployment of our A330 to Mauritius at very short notice, showing our impressive capacity to respond quickly to such situations.  I would like to thank everyone involved for ensuring smooth operations.”
