State-of-the-Nation address 2018 postponed to March 6 |01 February 2018

President Danny Faure will now deliver his State-of-the-Nation address on March 6.

A communiqué from State House writes that President Faure wrote to the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon Nicholas Prea, yesterday to advise him that, in view of the by-election set to take place on February 25, 2018 for the Anse Boileau seat in the National Assembly, he will now deliver his State-of-the-Nation address on March 6, 2018, instead of February 20 as previously scheduled.

The Anse Boileau seat became vacant after Patrick Pillay announced on Monday January 29, 2018 his resignation as both Speaker of the National Assembly and MNA of Anse Boileau.
