Health minister reinforces partnership with private practitioners with social call |05 February 2018

The existing partnership between the private and public sector in healthcare in Seychelles is expected to be strengthened in the future.

This follows a visit made by the Minister for Health, Jean Paul Adam, to a group of the private health practitioners located on the edge of Victoria.

The visit, which started very early in the morning on Friday January 28, included the Le Chantier Dental Clinic, the Riverside branch of Vision

Care, Lifeline Specialist Clinic, and Renasense Renal Care.

The minister was accompanied by his special advisor Dr Loren Reginald.

“We are appreciative of the partnership that exists between the public and private sector as our services can effectively complement each other,” Minister Adam said.

“It is important that we all join together as part of all effort towards better prevention, and better communication with our population about health risks. This is the responsibility of all,” he added, placing a strong focus on the risk of non-communicable diseases - characterised in Seychelles through the prevalence of diabetes and hyper-tension.

The minister’s visit of private health facilities will continue throughout the coming weeks.
