STB office in Abu Dhabi kicks off 2018 with participation in British International School’s International Day event |09 February 2018

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) did not miss the opportunity to showcase the island destination, as the British International School in Abu Dhabi hosted its International Day.

Students accompanied by their parents and teachers, representing over 30 nationalities, took part in the event held on Thursday February 1, 2018.

STB’s tourism attaché in Abu Dhabi, Aliette Esther, was present at the Seychelles stand, featuring captivating posters that depict the amazing sceneries of the islands. Photos of the Seychelles’ giant tortoises and various activities that can be undertaken on land and at sea while visiting the Indian Ocean archipelago, as well as local snacks, such as the delicious banana cakes, were also on display.

The event was the perfect opportunity for the STB representative to interact with potential visitors ranging from children to adults and from all walks of life. They were not only fascinated by the promotional items on display, but also had many questions including how they can get to Seychelles; and what is there to do on the islands?

“Most of them were fascinated by our enigmatic coco-de-mer, the seashells as well as the wooden tortoises and sea turtles. I heard many of the children asking their parents if they can go see the tortoises for their next holiday. Nowadays children have a lot of influence on their parents when planning holidays, so I am confident that such events provide a platform to capture the attention of both children and adults alike,” said Ms Esther.

The stall also received many visitors who had already been to Seychelles and were absolutely pleased with their holiday experiences.

“They were mostly happy about the excellent connectivity between the Seychelles and the UAE, the short flight time of 4 hours, the availability of different types of accommodation, the food and activities offered on the islands,” Ms Esther added.
