Air Seychelles staff team up to clear Morne Blanc trail |10 February 2018

A group of Air Seychelles staff banded together recently to clear the popular Morne Blanc trail on Mahé.
The staff worked together with the Seychelles National Parks Authority to clear up the hiking route, which offers beautiful panoramic views of Mahé’s western seaboard.
Offering an unforgettable uphill climb to the peak of Morne Blanc, which rises to an elevation of 667m (2,188ft), the trail takes roughly 45 minutes and passes through an old tea plantation and dramatic slopes lined with lemongrass and jackfruit trees, before coming to a viewing platform.
Along the way hikers are encouraged to keep an eye out for endemic wildlife, as the area is home to birds such as the Seychelles bulbul, swiftlet and sunbird, as well the world’s smallest frog, which is only 1cm in length.
Josie Michaud-Payet, manager corporate social responsibility at Air Seychelles, said: “The Morne Blanc trail is loved by local hikers and visitors alike, and it’s important that we keep it well-maintained and clean so everyone can continue to enjoy the unbelievable views and wildlife it offers to those who tackle its slopes. Our team is very passionate about protecting the natural environment and were keen to be involved in this activity together with the Seychelles National Parks Authority.”
