Incident involving crèche pupil from Perseverance primary school found in the sea |13 February 2018

Education ministry opens investigation

 

A five-year-old boy who was found in the sea at Perseverance last Friday when he should have been in the after school child-minding service and was admitted to the Seychelles Hospital, was discharged on Sunday.

The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development said in a communiqué yesterday that it is investigating an incident, which occurred on Friday February 9, 2018 where a crèche pupil, a boy of five years old, who had been in the after school child-minding service at the crèche of Perseverance primary school, left the school premises unnoticed and was found in the sea in Perseverance.

According to the communiqué, the child was given CPR by a resident before being transported to the Perseverance Hospital for medical attention. He was later transferred to the Seychelles Hospital where he was admitted and discharged on Sunday February 11, 2018.
