ACCS employee accused in corruption investigation remanded again |22 February 2018

The employee of the Anti-Corruption Commission of Seychelles accused of corruption has been remanded in police custody for another 14 days before he appears in court again on Tuesday March 6.

The accused appeared before the Magistrates’ Court again yesterday.

A complaint officer of the Anti-Corruption Commission of Seychelles (ACCS), the accused is said to have demanded property by written threats to the complainant, a former minister being investigated for corruption by the ACCS.

The two charges against the suspect are:

1. Demanding property by written threats contrary to section 284 of the Penal Code; and

2. Official corruption contrary to section 91 of the Penal Code.

The accused is being represented by Alexia Amesbury.
