ANB communiqué - Two Seychellois arrested for drug related offence |23 February 2018

Two Seychellois citizens, suspects in a drug related offence, have been remanded for 12 days by the Magistrate Court.

The two -- a 47-year-old female cleaner of Bel Air and a 33-year-old male driver (pirat) of La Gogue --  were arrested yesterday by the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) officers for the offence of importation of a controlled drug.

The arrest resulted after an approximate 205 grammes of suspected heroin were found in the possession of the woman who landed late yesterday evening at the Seychelles International Airport from South Africa on board an Air Seychelles flight. This led to the further arrest of the man as a second suspect in this case. Both suspects will appear before the court on March 5, 2018.
