Anse Boileau by-election this weekend Restriction on sale of alcohol |24 February 2018

Police Commissioner Kishnan Labonte, the Electoral Commission of Seychelles and the Seychelles Licensing Authority would like to inform all alcoholic liquor licensees in the Anse Boileau district  that sale of alcoholic liquor will be restricted to the general public this weekend because of the by-election in the district.

Sale will be restricted from 11pm today, Saturday February 24 until Monday February 16 at 11.30am.

This also applies for public bars and baka sheds.

As for hotels, sale of alcohol will be only for residential clients and under no circumstances alcohol bought at the hotel bars and restaurants should leave their premises.

The police, Electoral Commission of Seychelles and Seychelles Licensing Authority are asking parties concerned to respect and abide by this restriction imposed with regard to the Anse Boileau by-election period.

They say legal actions will be taken against any licensee caught selling alcoholic drinks, or anyone caught with alcoholic drinks in any shops, public bars or baka sheds within the Anse Boileau electoral boundary during the above stipulated period.

Sanctions against the licensee will include heavy fine, suspension or revocation of license. There is also a possibility of immediate suspension of license until the conclusion of investigation and eventual conviction.
