Airport launches new Customer Service Award |03 March 2018

The Seychelles International Airport (SIA) has launched a new Customer Service Award programme to give recognition to all the airport front-line services.

The ‘Be All Smiles’ campaign was officially unveiled by the chief executive of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA), Gilbert Faure, at the Annual Stakeholder’s Cocktail event recently.

This event was graced by the presence of the Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, the principal secretary for Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Garry Albert, as well as the principal secretary for tourism, Anne Lafortune.

Launching the award, Mr Faure said that “at the heart of the SIA are people who work round the clock to give a good service to our passengers”.
“Many of them are at the front-line of airport operations and seamlessly tender to our passengers’ every need such that their importance to the contribution of service delivery must be commended.”
He added that Seychelles is welcoming three new additional airlines this year -- British Airways, Air France and Edelweiss.

“As we receive more passengers we believe it is also vital to give the very best services as well in order to facilitate operations while also creating a lasting good impression for Seychelles, being the destination and the airport as the first place a visitor meets with a local person,” Mr Faure said.

It has been from this perspective that the customer service award programme is being implemented as a way of promoting high standards of customer service at the airport which welcomed 933,000 travellers end of December last year, of whom 431,002 were visitors only. Creating lasting impressions that add value to the experiences of the visitors are the front-line staff who are all faces at the airport, the first and last contact between Seychelles and the visitor.

‘Be all Smiles’ campaign which also includes the Ile Des Palmes Domestic Airport on Praslin, is an award where participants will be contesting against each other for best customer service operator and service employee of the year.

Customers will give a rating based on interactions with employees and experience in regards to service from a service operator using applications located around all services areas at the airport.

The campaign will be promoted on the airport website, on Facebook and Instagram and public advertising at key locations around the terminals at both airports.

Annual prizes for the Airport Customer Service Award will be won in three categories: Best customer service operator 2018, Stellar Award for Customer Service of the Year 2018 and Rising Star Customer Service Operator 2018 for Runner Up.

Operators and businesses at the airport can join the programme by sending their business name and employee name on the following, email: customeraward@scaa.sc, or call 4384003/4015, Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/seychellescaa, website: www.seychellesairports.sc. All participants will receive a campaign badge and information pack to get started. Entries will be closed after April 1 this year and the campaign will run until December 30, 2018.
