Automoto Seychelles presents 2K18 car show |22 March 2018

Car enthusiasts get ready for another spectacular, impressive 2K18 Island Tuning Car Show organised by Automoto Seychelles (AS) at the NSC Hall, Roche Caiman.

The show, now in its fourth year, will take place on March 31, 2018 and registration is absolutely free.

AS promotes everything and anything related to the automotive world, and such activity has been welcomed by all car enthusiasts to showcase their modified cars.

According to Jean-François Barallon, one of the show's organisers, between 30 to 40 cars have already registered for the fourth car show.

“There are 25 categories this time, ranging from performance, style, audio and best overall. There’s even a category for certain vehicle brands such as Toyota, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Kia and Hyundai,” he said.

He added that such activity is to promote a positive movement among the youth in our society.

“The automotive culture is a growing passion here that keeps the youth focused on their creativity, passion and love for vehicles as a way of steering them away from otherwise destructive pastimes such as drugs,” he said.

He continued by saying that our youths have got amazing abilities to modify their cars, but do not have the necessary place to showcase their amazing talent.

“We have a good level of vehicles out there that have been modified very well and professionally. There is however room for a lot of improvement especially when it comes to sharing the passion in a friendly manner as well as an upgrade in style we still haven’t achieved yet. Mauritius for example have vehicles wrapped, chromed and designed by professional spray paint artist, something we haven’t reached yet. We have also been trying our best to get the youths off the street and into a safe designated area for years now. It’s been slow progress with the related authorities as we are still regarded as an unsafe activity (racing, not the show), hence the need to have a safe area for them to manifest their passion,” he said.

Tickets for the fourth show cost R100.
